February 2002

Press Release

Many owner managed SME’s are beginning to feel the pain of the economic down turn which is evidenced by the number of businesses with reduced order books and the tightening of cash flow.

These businesses include sole traders, partnerships and limited companies where the directors or the owners of the business can be personally exposed to some of the debts and may feel that there is no alternative but to declare themselves bankrupt and to place companies into liquidation.

This is not always the case, Bennett Verby Corporate Recovery and Insolvency Services are helping businesses to restructure by organising informal arrangements or formal Voluntary Arrangements with their creditors and Administration Orders for companies requiring a period of breathing space to help with the survival of the whole or part of the business as a going concern.

All of the above can give a more advantageous outcome to the company’s creditors as they are likely to receive a better return in the long term than they would with a liquidation or bankruptcy, and in turn, can help the business to trade out of its current difficulties.

Vincent Simmons, Corporate Recovery Partner at Bennett Verby will only be too pleased to offer a free initial consultation to businesses who are in difficulties and will discuss the full implications at length on their various options.  His contact telephone number is 0161 477 9345 or you can e:mail him at
